SNC advises that a Flood Watch Statement is being extended in anticipation of additional snowmelt and rainfall in the upcoming week.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING DEVELOPMENT CHARGES

Take notice that on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the Council of the City of Clarence-Rockland will hold a public meeting pursuant to The Development Charges Act, 1997, regarding proposed development charge rates and policies that will be applied throughout the City. It is proposed that enactment of a development charges by-law by Council would occur on a date subsequent to the public meeting.

The City of Clarence-Rockland has declared a significant weather event due to an expected prolonged period of freezing rain. This weather may cause power outages, slippery surfaces, and falling branches due to ice accumulation.

As you may know, Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement warning of significant ice accretion due to freezing rain. Forecasted conditions include:

• Ice buildup: 5 to 15 mm, with some areas possibly exceeding 20 mm
• Snow and ice pellets: 5 to 15 cm
• Potential impacts: Slippery surfaces, broken tree branches, and utility outages
