Early Childhood Educator (1 position)

Position summary

Under the direction of the Daycare Services Manager, the Certified Educator will plan, present and maintain age-appropriate programming for the group to which the Educator is assigned, to ensure program quality. Ensure a clean environment where safety standards are maintained to minimize any risk of injury or incidents to the daycare's clientele and staff.

Requirements

  • Must have a college diploma in Early Childhood Educator.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years' experience in a licensed childcare.
  • Must be registered to the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Must have a valid Standard First Aid & CPR certificate.
  • Must be able to communicate with the children, staff and parents in both official languages (written and spoken).
  • Knowledgeable of children’s needs and development from 18 months to 12 years old.
  • Up to date record of immunizations (vaccines).

Administrative Assistant (one position)

Position summary

Under the direction of the Enforcement & Construction Manager, the Administrative Assistant will;

  • Support the enforcement and construction department and the manager in the management of administrative tasks, for example: follow-up of emails, data entry, management of purchases and payment of invoices, etc.
  • Carry out various administrative tasks, including writing, formatting, updating, producing information and presentation documents.
  • Prepare and attend various meetings. Take notes and follow up on them.
  • Participate in the logistical organization of various events and activities (team meetings, committees, assemblies, travel, public relations activities, etc.)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience.
  • Professionalism, initiative, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good knowledge of municipal operations and organizational structure.

Supervisor – Processing Centre (one position)

Position summary

Under the direction of the Manager of Enforcement & Construction Division, the Supervisor – Processing Center is responsible for the day to day operations of the Processing Center for processing Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) infractions including but not limited to training, scheduling, assigning work, supplies, calling for service on equipment, activity reporting as well as performance management, including ensuring all designated Provincial Offences Officers follow regimented practices while performing their duties including rules of evidence, requirements of calibration, and regulated timelines. 

Requirements

  • Must have a college diploma in Law & Security or Police Foundations.  
  • Must have five (5) years of experience performing duties related to the above-mentioned major responsibilities.
  • Must have experience issuing charges under Parts I and III of the Provincial Offences Act.
  • Must have experience directly related to Automated Speed Enforcement and Administrative Penalty Programs.
  • Must have experience in preparing annual operating budgets, data gathering, and report writing.
  • Knowledge of the legislations, regulations, or requirements of the Ontario Provincial Offences Act and the Highway Traffic Act.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to establish priorities and meet deadlines.   
  • Ability to work independently with minimum support/direction and as part of a team. 
  • Attention to detail, knowledge of employee management procedures. 
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages, written and spoken (French and English). 
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.  

Required Training:

  • Must have and maintain the Ministry of Transportation designation of an approved Provincial Offences Officer for Automated Speed Enforcement

Senior Human Resources Generalist (one position)

Position summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Human Resources, the Senior HR Generalist will assist in carrying out various duties in providing HR services to all the City’s departments. Although members of the team will have areas of expertise and priorities, the Senior Human Resources Generalist will provide guidance and services in all areas of Human Resources Management as either the prime resource or in a supporting capacity. These services include staffing/recruitment; employee benefits; performance management; position management; and labour relations.

Requirements

  • Have a university degree with a concentration in HR, Business, or Management.
  • Must have a minimum of 7 to 10 years' experience in all aspects of labour relations and/or staffing.
  • Must have experience in the administration of collective agreements (negotiations, grievances, and arbitration procedures) in a unionized environment.
  • Must have experience in managing the hiring process (job descriptions, postings, interviews, references) by working with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must have experience with employee relations, talent management, performance management, compensation, and employee development.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of employment and related legislation (e.g. Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, Employment Equity Act, etc.).
  • Able to demonstrate high level of accountability and comfortable in taking initiative and lead to think through future challenges and provide solutions to improve efficiencies.

Position summary

Under the responsibility of the Manager of Recreation and Culture, the Day Camp Counselor will assist with the planning and delivery of a high-quality program for children ages 4 to 12. They will help maintain accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation and attendance sheets while supervising campers and ensuring site cleanliness.

Requirements

  • Be able to ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive day camp environment in accordance with municipal and provincial policies and procedures.
  • Be able to meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child, according to age group.
  • Must be available to work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the full duration of the camp.
  • Must be able to communicate in both official languages.
  • Must be 14 years of age or older.

Assets:

  • Experience working with children.
