The City of Clarence-Rockland Mourns Mayor Guy Desjardins

CLARENCE-ROCKLAND – July 3, 2021 – It is with profound sadness and grief that the City of Clarence-Rockland announces that Mayor Guy Desjardins passed away earlier today, after a long illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with his partner Aline, his daughter Tanya, his sons Christian and Jason, and all his family.
The City is asking for privacy for the Mayor’s family. Further information will be released later.

CLARENCE-ROCKLAND – June 22, 2021 – The Mayor of the City of Clarence-Rockland, Guy Desjardins, is currently on leave for health reasons.
His request for leave was considered by Municipal Council at its June 21st, 2021, Regular Meeting. The Mayor will be on leave for a period of three months, until September 30th, 2021
According to By-Law 2018-157, as amended, Deputy Mayor Michel Levert, Ward 7 Councillor, will carry out Mayor Desjardins’ duties during his absence.

Clarence-Rockland – June 2, 2021 – Residents connected to the municipality’s water system are again asked to limit their outside water usage and to follow the water restrictions in place. In the past few days, the Water Treatment Plant in Rockland treated and distributed the following quantity of drinking water:
- Saturday, May 29: 6,800 m3
- Sunday, May 30: 5,900 m3
- Monday, May 31: 6,900 m3

New Program at the Landfill Site

CLARENCE-ROCKLAND – May 28, 2021 - A new program at the City of Clarence-Rockland landfill site will begin on June 1st.
Below are the program’s major points:
- The residential fall clean-up will be maintained;
- Each Clarence-Rockland residential address will be allowed to throw out at no cost a cumulative weight of 140 kg annually;
- Proof of residency with photo will be required;
- The resident must be present to qualify for the program;
- One address per charge will be accepted;
