Update on the Cyber Breach

CLARENCE-ROCKLAND – November 1, 2021 – The City of Clarence-Rockland would like to inform residents that, at this time, there is no evidence that personal data was accessed or stolen following the cyber incident that occurred on October 25, 2021. The information was encrypted which makes it unusable. This has been confirmed by a reputable cyber forensics firm that has been retained to work with the municipality.

Clarence-Rockland victim of a cyber breach

CLARENCE-ROCKLAND – October 28, 2021 - The City of Clarence-Rockland was the victim of a cyber breach last Monday, October 25, 2021. The municipality has retained a team of cyber security experts in order to get the systems fully operational as quickly as possible.

City officials immediately notified the Ontario Provincial Police and, in order to not interfere with the ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time.

Selection Committee – Interviews for Councillor Ward 2

For your information, please be advised that a Special Closed Meeting is scheduled to be held via teleconference this Tuesday October 26, at 6:00 p.m. in order to allow the selection committee to interview the candidates for the position of Councillor Ward 2.  The Selection Committee’s recommendation will then be considered by the Municipal Council at a future meeting.
