Position summary
Reporting to the Manager of Economic Development and Tourism, the Administrative Coordinator plays a pivotal role in advancing the municipality’s economic development and tourism objectives. This position combines administrative expertise, communications coordination, research, and client service to support the delivery of strategic initiatives and projects. Responsibilities include managing divisional communications, maintaining the Economic Development and Tourism website, serving as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders, conducting research to inform business development priorities, and contributing to the successful planning and execution of programs, events, and initiatives that foster economic growth and community vitality.
Requirements
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French, including business writing, editing and proofreading.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and strong working knowledge of marketing, communications, social media, and graphic design along with standard business software applications.
- Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with ability to research, interpret, and synthesize information from a variety of sources.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
- Experience in customer service.
- Experience in event planning and coordination.
- Knowledge of the City of Clarence-Rockland and its surrounding area, including relationships with specific key players and stakeholders.
- Able to attend evening committee meetings and/or community events.
Salary
Class 6 (white collar) of the unionized salary scale: $31.58 to $38.15/hour.
