Arenas and Skating

The public skating season returns to Clarence-Creek Arena on Saturdays from 6 pm to 7 pm. The season begins on September 27. Here's the tentative public skating schedule for the 2025-26 season:

Please note that dates may be cancelled for sports tournaments using our facilities. Before leaving the house, don't forget to check our calendar! Any changes will be posted on this calendar as well as on the municipality's Facebook page.

The March break skating season returns to Clarence-Creek Arena and Clarence-Rockland Arena on varied days during the Winter break. Here is the daily schedule on the ice:

1 p.m. to 2 p.m. - Public Skate

2 p.m. to 3 p.m. - Shinny Hockey (12 and under)*

3 p.m. to 4 p.m. - Shinny Hockey (13 and over)*

*(Shinny Ringuette will be offered on Friday March 14^th, 2025)

Here's the Winter break skating schedule for March 2025:

Children 10 years old and under must wear a hockey helmet approved by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) on all City of Clarence-Rockland rinks.

CSA approved field hockey helmets:

• Provide optimal protection against head injuries during ice activities;
• Are designed to offer protection against multiple impacts from different angles;
• Are highly recommended for everyone during on-ice activities, regardless of the type of rink.
• Must wear a hockey helmet with a visor.

Please respect the rules. They are designed to make the activities fun and safe for all participants:

• Respect staff at all times;
• When the whistle sounds, listen to the staff and follow their instructions;
• Report any accidents or injuries to staff immediately;
• Only persons on skates are allowed on the ice;
• Participants must skate at a reasonable and safe speed, in the same direction as other skaters;
• Field hockey pucks and sticks are not permitted during skating sessions;
• During skating sessions, children 7 years of age and under must always be accompanied by a responsible person at least 16 years of age. 

It is up to the users of the City of Clarence-Rockland's facilities to determine if they are in good enough shape to participate in physical activities. Anyone who has health problems that affect his or her ability to participate must take the necessary precautions to ensure his or her safety and should be accompanied by an adult who is aware of his or her health condition.

The following behaviours are prohibited on the ice. Otherwise, you could be forced out off the ice:

• Skating with a child in your arms or in a baby carrier;
• Wearing a headset or using a cell phone or other portable electronic device;
• Eating or drinking on the ice;
• Playing rough, figure or speed skating, or participating in group games (e.g. chases or races);
• Use foul language or inappropriate behaviour;

ALL ice rentals are required to have liability insurance before Ice rental. It can be purchased through, https://duuo.ca/ , https://www.iplayhockey.ca/ etc. 

• A valid $2 million liability insurance certificate naming the City of Clarence-Rockland as an additional insured is required.

Monday through Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. except during special events. The track will not be open to walkers if there is a special activity.

This schedule may be different during the summer season due to closures.

Family Skating: Family skating sessions return every second Wednesday at Clarence-Rockland Arena from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Here's the tentative family skating schedule for the 2025-26 season:

For a second consecutive year, the Rockland Nationals and the City of Clarence-Rockland are offering public skating sessions with the Nationals players 3 times a year! An excellent opportunity for all to create lasting relationships with your local team's players!
