History

The City of Clarence-Rockland is a vibrant municipality nestled along the banks of the Ottawa River. It shares its borders with the City of Ottawa to the west, the Township of Alfred-Plantagenet to the east, and The Nation municipality to the south. Formed in 1998 through the amalgamation of the City of Rockland and the Township of Clarence, Clarence-Rockland is a place where urban energy meets rural charm. While the Rockland area serves as a central hub, many families have chosen to make their homes in the surrounding villages and hamlets, contributing to a rich and diverse community landscape.
