Position Summary
Under the direction of the Manager of Municipal Buildings and Parks and/or the Supervisor of Operations, Municipal arenas, the Operator Labourer is responsible for the maintenance, as well as the quality and safety of parks, arenas, and municipal infrastructure, as per the standards in effect in the City of Clarence-Rockland.
Requirements
- Successfully completed Grade 12 (secondary) or equivalent.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Have good physical ability.
- Must have a valid Ontario driver's licence.
- Must be self-reliant and have initiative.
- Must have a good knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance in general.
- Ability to work as a team and on a stand-alone basis.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
- Verbal and written communication skills in both official languages.
- WHMIS.
- Handling propane.
- Zamboni operation.
- First aid.
- Refrigeration of arenas.
The following training and certifications will be considered assets:
- ORFA – Basic Arena Refrigeration
- ORFA – Safe Ice Resurface Operator
- ORFA – Ice Maintenance and Equipment Operation
- ORFA - Certified Ice Technician (CIT)
- ORFA – Building Operation and Maintenance
- ORFA – Grounds Operation and Maintenance.
Salary
Class 3 (Blue Collar) according to the unionized salary scale: $26.53 to $29.84 per hour.
