Position Summary 

As a key member of the Operations team, the Operator Labourer plays an active role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and overall quality of the City of Clarence-Rockland’s parks, arenas, and municipal infrastructure. Reporting to the Manager and/or Supervisor of Municipal Parks and Buildings, the incumbent performs a variety of maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks to help provide residents with clean, safe, functional, and welcoming facilities, while adhering to established quality, health, and safety standards. 

 

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience. 
  • Good physical condition and ability to perform a variety of manual labour tasks. 
  • Valid driver’s licence. 
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills. 
  • Good knowledge of carpentry and general building maintenance. 
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, as required by operational needs. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both official languages.

  • ORFA – Basic Arena Refrigeration 
  • ORFA – Safe Ice Resurfacer Operator 
  • ORFA – Ice Maintenance and Equipment Operation 
  • ORFA – Certified Ice Technician (CIT) 
  • ORFA – Building Operation and Maintenance 
  • ORFA – Grounds Operation and Maintenance 

 

Salary 

Class 3 (Blue Collar) according to the unionized salary scale: $26.53 to $29.84 per hour.
