Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Manager of Public Works and/or the Supervisor, the Mechanic is responsible for performing specialized maintenance, inspection, diagnostic, and mechanical repair work on municipal vehicles and equipment. The incumbent contributes to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the municipal fleet, in accordance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
· Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a municipal environment or in an equivalent field.
· Valid mechanic’s license class 310-T.
· Recognized training in preventive vehicle maintenance.
· Valid DZ driver’s licence required.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Strong time-management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
· Ability to communicate effectively in both French and English.
Assets
· AZ driver’s license.
· Mechanic’s license class 310-S.
· Mechanic’s license class 421-A.
Salary
Class 9 of the union salary scale (blue collar): $38.33 à $44.37/hour.
