Sign Permit Application

Fees for sign permit application: $149.00

For multiple signs, there is an additional fee of $25.00 per sign.

For a sign that was already erected before the application, the fees are $184.00 plus $37.00 for each additional sign.

No fee is required for an application to erect a temporary sign when the applicant is a registered non-profit organization and the purpose of the sign is to advertise an event or a program registration period.

Documents to upload to submit a complete application:

  • Image of the proposed sign, including text and visuals.
  • Site plan showing the proposed location of the sign with clearly marked distances from buildings, entrances, parking areas, streets, and property lines.
  • Letter from the property owner granting permission for the sign (if applicable).

In regard to By-law 2019-20 and its amendments, for regulating the issuance, renewal, and approval of permits within the Corporation of the City of Clarence-Rockland, I, the undersigned, certify that the statements contained in this application are true and made with full knowledge of the circumstances connected with it, and I acknowledge that I have read the declaration and notice below.

The undersigned agrees that the issuance of a permit shall be subject to the approval of any municipal or provincial departments or agencies deemed necessary by the permit manager. The issuance of a permit shall not be construed as permission or consent from the Corporation allowing the permit holder to violate or fail to comply with any law of Canada or Ontario or any by-law of the Corporation.

Any business permit application that has not received approval from all required municipal or provincial departments or agencies due to the applicant’s failure to meet the permit requirements within 90 days from the date of submission shall be deemed refused.
