The City de Clarence-Rockland is pleased to announce an investment of $361,000 to modernize the infrastructure of its arena, made possible through financial support from the Government of Ontario. This funding is part of a larger provincial commitment, with Ontario investing more than $12 million to build and upgrade community centres across Eastern Ontario.

The provincial announcement was made by Premier Doug Ford, Minister of Sport Neil Lumsden and Deputy Stéphane Sarrazin, highlighting the government’s support for community infrastructure in the region. Investments were celebrated in several municipalities, including Clarence-Rockland, as part of the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund.

The Clarence-Rockland project will replace the aging dehumidification system with a new, energy-efficient unit. The main rooftop unit serving Rink 1, which had been operating at 120% capacity and was severely damaged, has already been replaced. Two additional smaller units have been installed in Rink 2, ensuring optimal comfort and reliability for all arena users.

“A modern arena is more than just a sports facility—it’s a vital gathering place that fosters social cohesion, youth development, and community well-being. By providing safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient amenities, we’re creating an environment that supports sports, cultural events, and community activities,” said Mario Zanth, Mayor of Clarence-Rockland.

The City thanks the Province of Ontario for its commitment to strengthening communities throughout Eastern Ontario. This investment marks an important milestone for Clarence-Rockland and demonstrates the value of provincial support for local infrastructure.
