The Nomination Period for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election begins on Friday, May 1, 2026. Nominations must be filed with the Clerk no later than Friday, August 21, 2026, at 2 p.m.
The term of office for all elected positions will run from November 15, 2026, to November 14, 2030. Voting day will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, using internet and telephone voting.
Nominations must be filed in person using the prescribed nomination form and must include the required filing fee of $200 for the office of Head of Council or $100 for all other offices, payable by debit, cash, certified cheque, or money order. Only nomination forms with original signatures will be accepted; faxed or photocopied forms will not be accepted. Nomination papers must also include 25 endorsement signatures from eligible electors, except for candidates seeking election to school board trustee positions.

Clarence-Rockland Municipal Council
One Mayor will be elected at large, and one Councillor will be elected in each of wards 1 through 8.
English Language Public Trustee – Upper Canada District School Board
One trustee will be elected at large to represent the geographic area of Alfred and Plantagenet, Casselman, Champlain, East Hawkesbury, Hawkesbury, Russell, The Nation, and Clarence‑Rockland.
English Language Separate Trustee – Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario
One trustee will be elected at large to represent the geographic area of Alfred and Plantagenet, Casselman, Champlain, East Hawkesbury, Hawkesbury, Russell, The Nation, and Clarence‑Rockland. Nominations for this office must be filed with the Municipality of Russell.
French Language Public Trustee – Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario
One trustee will be elected at large to represent the geographic area of Russell and Clarence‑Rockland.
French Language Separate Trustee – Conseil scolaire de District Catholique de l’Est Ontarien
One trustee will be elected at large by the electors of Clarence‑Rockland.
In the event there are an insufficient number of certified candidates to fill all positions available, nominations will be reopened for the vacant positions only on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
