This By-law establishes a business licensing system for designated businesses operating within the City of Clarence-Rockland to promote public health and safety, consumer protection, and nuisance control. It regulates the licensing, operation, renewal, transfer, suspension, revocation, and enforcement of licences for businesses including animal kennels, auctioneers, body piercing and tattoo parlours, caterers, circuses and carnivals, food and beverage establishments, home-based businesses, old gold and jewellery dealers, pawnbrokers, salvage yards, storage unit businesses, taxi and car-for-hire services, and trailer camps or campgrounds. The By-law also establishes application requirements, inspections, insurance requirements, licence conditions, operating standards, cost recovery provisions, appeals, business licence records, administrative monetary penalties, and enforcement measures to ensure licensed businesses operate safely and in compliance with applicable municipal, provincial, and federal laws.
