To obtain a watering permit, residents must contact the Client Services Centre at 613-446-6022.
In accordance with By‑law 2020‑36, which regulates the use of water within the City of Clarence‑Rockland, the City issues free watering permits to residents who are:
- sowing grass seed, or
- installing new sod.
These permits are:
- valid for ten (10) consecutive days, and
- allow watering for up to approximately four (4) hours per day, if required.
Watering permits provide a temporary exception to the watering restrictions set out in By‑law 2020‑36, which otherwise governs the mechanical watering of lawns and vegetation between May 1 and September 30.
Watering permits are not issued for lawn treatments, including fertilizing, weed control, or other routine lawn maintenance.
