The Spring-Summer Adult Recreational Hockey League is an evening league that gives participants the chance to play the game with friends in a safe, fun and inclusive environment.

*We heard you! The Adult Recreational League has been extended through the summer, from 10 weeks to 16 weeks.

Date: Thursdays starting on April 4 to August 29th, 2024

***NOTE that there will be a break in the season From May 26th to June 28th due to the arena closure for major repairs.

Time: 8 or 9 pm (team schedules will be released closer to the start date of the season)

Cost: $375 + applicable taxes per player.

Duration: 16 Weeks

Location: Clarence-Rockland Arena (8710 County Road 17)

Program Details 
  • Individual player registration only.
  • All players must be over 18 years of age.
  • Efforts will be made to ensure balance in teams with an evaluation and realignment if needed after the first two to three weeks of play.
  • Teammate requests will be considered where possible, though not guaranteed in order to maintain balance.
  • League rules and other important details will be shared with registered participants a few weeks before the start of the season.

Rules and Regulations

Thank you for registering for the City of Clarence-Rockland Adult Mixed Spring Hockey League. 

Below you will find important information regarding the logistics of the league.

 

RULES and Regulations:

 

No Slap Shots (wind up above the waist) – results in faceoff in defensive zone of offender

 

Body Checking is NOT permitted.

 

Player Changes: Players will be eligible to change at any time during the game.

 

Unless otherwise indicated in the Rules and Regulations, the City of Clarence-Rockland Adult Spring Hockey League rules are based on the current Hockey Canada Rule Book. The rules and regulations stated below either supplement or override the rules found in the aforementioned Hockey Canada rules.

The City has a zero-tolerance for fighting or abuse (verbal or physical) of officials, program leads, timekeepers or other players on or off the ice.

On-ice officials reserve the right to eject any players who do not respect these rules.  In the event of a rejection, the League organizing team will review each case and determine if further actions (warning or league ban) is warranted.

 

Rule Changes/updates: The league reserves the right to make any changes and/or additions to the league rules at any time during the season.

 

TIMING OF GAMES:

Period Lengths: The game clock shall start counting down from 25 minutes as soon as the Zamboni and rink staff is off the ice and have closed the gate behind them. The second period will start immediately after the first period ends and will count down from 22 minutes.

Warm-up: There will be a 3-minute warm-up period at the beginning of the first period. Teams will be encouraged to face-off at the 22-minute mark.

FACILITIES/Change Rooms:

Dressing Rooms: Dressing rooms are available 30 minutes prior to game time and are to be cleared within twenty minutes of completion of each game. Please check the board each week to see which room you are in.

Please respect other users of the facilities and leave the room in the condition you found it. IF there is an issue with damage and/or cleanliness, please contact the arena facility attendants immediately.

 

TEAMS:  As mentioned, please note that teams may be changed in order to maintain balance.

 

JERSEYS:  Jerseys are property of the City of Clarence Rockland and are to be returned to Max Cheff at the end of the season.  The cost of any jersey not returned will be re-couped by the City from the individual player should they wish register for future programs.
