The Clarence-Rockland Public Library Becomes an Emergency Cooling Centre

CLARENCE-ROCKLAND – July 13, 2021 – The Clarence-Rockland Public Library is now an emergency cooling centre for the community during heat waves. Residents will therefore be able to go and cool off at both the Rockland and Bourget branches of the Library when a heat alert is issued by Environment & Climate Change Canada (ECCC) for the Clarence-Rockland region.

The CRPL, as an emergency cooling centre, provides air-conditioned resting spaces to the public and will be open during regular business hours on the day an alert is issued. All services will be delivered following ongoing COVID-19 protocols to ensure the safety of those using the centres. This includes encouraging physical distancing, the mandatory use of masks, and hand sanitizing.
