The City Explains the Budget Process

CLARENCE-ROCKLAND – October 23, 2020 – The City of Clarence-Rockland is aware that the tabling of the draft budget prompted several comments from citizens and would like to clarify the budget process. We would also like to point out that we are proud of the citizens' interest in their municipality's budget.
Last September, Municipal Council mandated the administration to table a budget that included no more than a 2% tax increase. The draft budget proposes a tax increase of 3.99%, but it is a preliminary working document that will be discussed and debated in Committee of the Whole meetings on November 3, 4 and 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. Municipal Council will be able to make changes at that time. Due to the pandemic, these meetings will be held virtually via Zoom and Facebook Live.
