AS&E testing and re-writes

Students who have completed the required training and who want to take a written test or complete practical skills testing;

or

students that need to re-do a written or practical skills testing through the Academic Standards and Evaluation Unit need to have their Fire Chief or designate complete a Candidate Approval Letter and return it to OFMtestingandcertification@ontario.ca. Forms must be received three to four weeks prior to testing.

Prerequisites

It is the responsibility of each Fire Chief or designate to determine if the student meets the prerequisite to be eligible to apply for the course.

If the student has not completed the prerequisite course through the Ontario Fire College or through Grandfathering, but rather through another agency, pre-service training or through in-house training, a copy of the certificate with IFSAC/ProBoard seal must be sent with the application form as proof of prerequisite when submitting application to infofire@clarence-rockland.com.

Pre-class materials

Students are responsible for completing all requirements as noted in the pre-class package prior to arrival. They must also bring any indicated items including:

  • textbooks
  • equipment
  • materials
  • clothing

Students who arrive unprepared or do not bring the required items will not be eligible to attend. Download pre-class materials

Equipment to bring

Where required, each student must provide their own turnout gear. To maximize firefighter safety, students are required to bring their own SCBA and two air cylinders. Information and guidance on safely transporting SCBA and cylinders to and from the RTC are included in the pre-class information package for each program.
