ROCKLAND – May 29th, 2015 – The City of Clarence-Rockland would like to inform its residents and businesses that traffic on Laurier Street between St-Jean and Edwards Streets will be disrupted for a period of a few weeks.
On April 4th, the sewers overflowed at the Laurier and St-Jean intersection, which required the temporary replacement of a portion of a sewer pipe. The City investigated the situation further with CCTV cameras. The additional information makes it necessary to replace the temporary pipe as well as additional sections of sewer pipes. It is important to mention that this sewer system was built before 1965.
As of today, the center of Laurier Street including the turning lane between Edwards and Giroux will be closed. To allow traffic through, parking on Laurier Street will be prohibited during this time.
Here is the project schedule:
May 29 to June 12 – planning and engineering work
June 15 to 19 – obtain pricing
June 22 to July 24 – construction work
The City of Clarence-Rockland appreciates your patience and understanding. Frequent communication will occur during the construction period. For more information, please e-mail Helen Collier, Chief Administrative Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org
