CLARENCE-ROCKLAND – Tuesday April 21, 2015 – The City of Clarence-Rockland is developing a strategic plan to determine its future direction.
This is an opportunity to challenge and stretch the community’s imagination in defining what is possible and commit to a Great and exciting future, rather than a ‘Good enough’ future.
“The objective is to get the community involved in this exercise. Having people work together to determine the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities to achieve common goals and objectives, will transform a collective vision into reality and unite our rural and urban community within our city.” says Helen Collier, Chief Administrative Officer.
Citizens of the City of Clarence-Rockland are future seeking. But first, they must be able to imagine and decide what the future will be. Secondly, they must decide how they are going to make this desired future become a reality.
“A strategic plan is like preparing to grow vegetables in a greenhouse.” adds Mayor Guy Desjardins. “You need to plan it! You have to decide what you’re going to grow; design the greenhouse space; prepare the soil; fertilize; select and buy the seeds; manage the heating and ventilation; and water regularly. You then benefit from the rewarding harvests”.
Community workshops are being organized to give citizens and the business community an opportunity to provide input in to the future of Clarence-Rockland. We are hoping to get as many people as possible to participate in these workshops.
Dates and times for the workshops will be communicated soon.
In addition to the Community workshops, an online survey will be launched in the near future. Please check our website at www.clarence-rockland.com, Strategic Planning tab, for regular updates on the future of the City of Clarence-Rockland.
For those who are not able to attend any of the workshops and have ideas you’d like to share with us, you can email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
