The City of Clarence-Rockland has to change the batteries on approximately 1200 water meter units this year. This battery, which is found in your “Meter Interface Unit Remote” located in your dwelling, is reaching its maximum life expectancy. Therefore, the City of Clarence-Rockland needs to replace these batteries with one that has a 20 year life expectancy. Be advised that this replacement program is at no cost to you but it is important to ensure proper billing.
Please contact us at the External Public’s Utility at (613)446-6022, to schedule an appointment to have the battery replaced. The estimated time to replace the battery is approximately 30 minutes.
Please note that the City of Clarence-Rockland will not do door-to-door solicitation regarding this program and that the municipal employees assigned to this project will have official identification. We actually encourage you to verify the ID of our workers during the visit.
